itunes Warning !!!

I know someone who bought a brand new computer, fully updated, expecting to be able to do the things he couldn't do with his old computer. He decided to download some music onto his computer to burn onto a CD.

He company he decided to use was "itunes" to download the music. He paid $25 for 25 downloads. The songs were downloaded onto his computer with no problem. But when it was time to burn the songs onto a brand new CD it wouldn't happen. He tried numerous times to get the songs to burn onto the CD. But no matter what he did it would not work.

So, he called customer support. That was an exercise in futility. The woman he talked to didn't know much. She did finally make a suggestion for him to try. Then she proceeded to hang up. When he tried her suggestion, guess what, it didn't work. He tried to call customer support, guess what, they were closed.

In doing research on his problem he found that there were a lot of people having the same problem. People with all different kinds of computers, and all different ages of computers. It seems to me that itunes would realise that there is a problem with their music downloads. What I can't figure out is why they haven't fixed the problem. In fact, it doesn't seem that they care about the problems their customers are having. I sure would like to see itunes work this problem out.

Game Day

If you are anything like me, you love to play games on your PC. I think I spend more time playing games than just about anything. I have visited many different game communities and have found most of them are about the same. But there are a couple that kinda stand out.

My absolute favorite is Bigfish Games. You can find them at www.bigfishgames.com
What I like about them is that they introduce a new game everyday. They have all different kinds of games also. Their prices are very reasonable. You can buy games for as little as $6.99 They also have a game community where you can play games online. You can go into chat rooms and chat with other gamers while you play. Sometimes it helps to have more than one person working on a game. You know, two heads are better than one.

Another web site I like is www.playfirst.com They also have too many games to count. They are most famous for the Diner Dash series of games. These are absolutely wonderful. There are now four games in the series. And while you can buy them from most gaming web sites, the Playfirst web site is the only one that I have found where you can play the game online and customize your diner and waitress/waiter. You can also play against other Diner Dash players in diners of your own design or they can invite you to play on theirs. The fun never ends.

Some people think that playing games is just for children, but I have just as much fun with some of these games as they do. By the way, one benefit of playing these games is it has improved the dexterity in my fingers. And for a guitar player that is definitely a benefit.

WAL*MART

This has got to be one of my favorite subjects. The things that could be said about Wal*Mart are without end. Ever since Sam Walton died, Wal*Mart and it's values have plummeted to a record low, and their prices have hit a record high. At least on the items they still offer.

Let me ask you this, have you ever walked into a Wal*Mart and got everything you were looking for, without having to search for it? I have to be honest, not so much for me. It seems that every time I go into my local Wal*Mart Supercenter I spend half my time walking around the store looking for what I want, because the management, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided it needed to be moved to another location. Then, just when I get used to using a specific product they decide that I really don't need that product any more and will no longer carry it. Now I have to find some kind of substitue that they will decided in a couple of months not to carry anymore either.

I haven't even begun to talk about the pharmacy. I have never had so much trouble as at the pharmacy. Sometimes I think that they go out of their way to cause as much aggrivation as humanly possible. I'm not saying that the employees are bad. I know better. But the policies make it so that the employees cannot do anything to help the customer.

I am so glad that I have Wal*Mart to tell me what it is that I need, how much I need to get, and when I should get it. Afterall, what would I do without them.

What American???

Anybody who has any level of consciousness has to be aware of the Presidential race. I have been following the debates (really it's bickering) with less than the usual interest. But I was watching the news the other day and I heard something that I never thought I would hear. The reference was being made to Senator Obama. The newsman referred to Senator Obama as "African-American". Excuse me !!! What exactly does that mean. It seems to me that makes him to be an African first and American second. I have yet to hear Senator Obama refute that statement. Do we really want as President someone whose loyalties lie with Africa first and America second. I would not think so. Just once I would like to see a black person stand up and say, "I am not African-American. I am full blooded American and proud of it." We need to have people in politics who are proud to be American. Proud of the principles that America was founded on. Proud to stand up for what is right without worrying about what it will cost. There was a great price paid when this nation was formed. Where would we be if those men and women slithered away and hid when the call came to serve their country. We wouldn't have a country. We would still be paying our taxes to the Queen of England. I am an American and proud of it. I will stand by my country and will defend the principles it was founded on. "IN GOD WE TRUST". Will you???

The Greatest Writer

I am an avid reader. There is nothing I like more than to curl up with a good book. In my opinion, the greatest writer is Stephen King. The way he can weave a story is amazing. Not only do they work in print, but they are equally exciting on the screen. 'The Stand' has got to be one of the greatest books ever written. Of course, you have to read the uncut and unedited version that was written in 1990. The way the story is written makes it very believable. 'The Stand' is a story about a virus accidentally released by the United States government that has a 99.9% communicability rate. Everyone who gets this virus dies. With less than 1% of the population surviving they are divided into two groups, good and evil. The story is about how one conquers the other. I don't want to tell you how it ends. But I guarantee that if you read this story you will love it also.
